Jessica Sabapathy


Jessica graduated from the University of Tasmania in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Political Science and a Bachelor of Laws. She was admitted to practice in August 2014 and began her legal career as the Associate to Justice Estcourt at the Supreme Court of Tasmania.

In 2016 Jessica started at the Legal Aid Commission of Tasmania’s Launceston office, where she worked as a mental health and disability lawyer for six months and a criminal lawyer for two years. She has experience appearing in the criminal divisions of the Magistrates Court of Tasmania and the Supreme Court of Tasmania in a diverse range of matters.

Jessica joined the civil litigation team at McLean McKenzie & Topfer in January 2019.

Jessica practices in the areas of:

  • Personal injury claims
  • Motor vehicle accidents
  • Medical negligence
  • Criminal law
  • General court work

Jessica is currently the North West Representative on the Tasmanian Women Lawyers Committee. In February 2019 she received the Law Society of Tasmania’s Young Lawyer of the Year award for her commitment to social justice.

In her spare time Jessica enjoys spending quality time with her loved ones, reading and traveling.
